Locations: Minnesota & LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Pay (Hourly): $24-$30 per hour. PLUS OVERTIME. NOTE: A notional gross earnings range of $3,840-$4,800 per month based on a 40-hour work week and 4 weeks per month. Job Summary: Seeking Construction Materials Testing Technicians to join our Minnesota & LaCrosse, Wisconsin, offices who have experience performing and reporting on testing, observations, and inspections of construction materials, such as soils, concrete, concrete reinforcement, masonry, and asphalt. Work will be performed on various commercial and transportation construction projects located throughout the Twin Cities and surrounding areas.
WHAT YOU'LL DO: Candidates must have the ability to effectively communicate with project personnel, materials technicians, clients, and contractor’s representatives regarding construction activities, project requirements, testing, observation, and inspection needs and results. Technician will also transport samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis, prepare and submit electronic daily test and observation reports. The chosen candidate(s) will receive in-depth technical training and industry certifications as needed based on their experience and skill level. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Perform routine to complex sampling and testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, and asphalt • Provide clear documentation of field activities entered daily in electronic format • Work with project team and lead technicians to ensure project specifications are followed • Assist with training & mentoring of junior staff, as needed
The ideal candidate will have: • Understand and read project plans and specifications • Demonstrated technical aptitude • Flexibility to work extended or nontraditional hours as needed • Communicate effectively both through verbal and written communication • Possess industry recognized certifications such as ACI • The ability to obtain MnDOT or ICC certifications All candidates must have: • A High School diploma or equivalent • 2+ years of construction materials testing experience • A strong safety focus and attention to detail • A valid driver’s license and a good driving history required
