Posted Date 3/20/2025
Description

The Vandenberg SFB FCC Program is looking for Family Child Care Providers who want to become licensed to care for any combination of infants, toddlers, preschool, and before and after-school children in their own home on base. In addition, we are looking for providers who would be available for evenings, weekends, shift care, and extended duty care. We also need providers to care for children with special needs. Providers set their own hours and choose the ages they would like to provide care for.

Family Child Care is defined as in-home child care for a small group of children on a regular basis, usually 3 - 10 hours per day. Family Child Care Providers are self-employed and licensed to care for children 2 weeks to 12 years of age.  They can care for up to 6 children, including their own children under age 8. An FCC home can be a family housing unit on or off base in which care is provided for 1 or more unrelated children for more than 10 hours per week. FCC Providers who reside off-base must obtain a State childcare license prior to becoming affiliated with Vandenberg SFB Family Child Care. Air Force fee subsidy program and incentives are available.

Background checks, an orientation, and continuing training are required. We offer free training, on-going support, and a lending library with toys, furniture, and materials to get you started. Applicants must be at least 18 and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
